Event Details

Every year over a million people take part in National Science and Engineering Week (NSEW) events around the UK. Funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, NSEW is the UK’s widest grassroots celebration of science and provides a platform for a diverse range of organisations to reach out to new and existing audiences with events and activities that communicate the wonders of the sciences and engineering. It next takes place from 9-18 March 2012 and the theme will be "Our World in Motion".

Organisations can gain by running an event during NSEW. Possible benefits include:

  • Telling the public and the media about your work to raise your profile locally
  • Align your organisation with a well-established national campaign for the sciences and engineering
  • Fun and motivational for your staff and can help develop new skills.

At this free briefing you will find out about:

  • Funding hints and tips
  • Hands-on activity ideas
  • Details of the 2012 theme and mass participation activities
  • Free resources for organisers
  • Additional NSEW projects you can take part in

You will be able to network and brainstorm ideas with other event organisers from a diverse range of organisations including schools, colleges, universities, museums, local community groups, charities and businesses.

Speakers will include Julia Kingston, Head of Learning, Thinktank
and Jeremy Buckle, The Big Bang Fair Event Director

A free buffet supper is included. Booking is essential as places are limited.
